Why Choose This Program?
Do you cringe when a flawless car gets damaged by hail or crumpled in a collision? Then consider a degree in Auto Body Collision Technology and restore vehicles to their pristine condition.
Graduates of the Auto Body Collision Technology program have skills in straightening and restoring metal and fiberglass automobile bodies, realigning body-frame units and sheet metal, removing dents, replacing panels and glass, diagnosing collision damage and applying the latest two-stage and three-stage refinishing systems. Graduates also know how to repair high-tech plastics, repair and replace trim and brightwork, and restore corrosion protection.
This program allows graduates to choose a variety of career choices, including body technician, refinish technician, prep technician or frame technician. Graduates also work as estimators, detailers, sales representatives, insurance adjusters, and industrial painters.
The St. Cloud Technical and Community College's Auto Body Collision Technology Program is ASE Certified, and graduates are prepared for the Auto Body Repair Excellence examinations. The program is certified by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation, Inc. (NATEF) and our instructors are certified by the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR).
